I know the joy it brings to me when I have friends and knowing I can be a friend to someone else. It's important in both aspects of having friends and being a friend. This doesn't come easy friendships take work, and yet they are a joyful part of living. Whenever I have had one-sided friendships I become tired, weary and just exhausted of the other person. Do I give up on that person? The idea here is to keep the communication open, letting the other person decide if having a friend is worth it to them. And hopefully the other person will see that friendships are special and they will want to be your friend as well. When both friends are working together it makes for a beautiful friendship.
On the other side the person could be wanting to be a friend and it seems one-sided, but is it really? The other friend could be busy and making time is so hard no matter how hard the person tries. Here again the communication waves stay open no matter what the situation. I believe that is true friendship.
One more thing I wanted to just add here is that for myself is that people see and have seen me (who I am) by the people I hang out with. Whether that's wrong or not I don't know...What I do know is that friends can make a difference in a persons life. They can be a light for others and a light for you....Lighting the way when you cannot see the way with love, warmth, caring and a special hand.
